Once I exclaimed that something was "driving me crazy!" and my sister said, "that's okay, just don't park there" :) I am sure my blogs will sometimes express my crazy thoughts, but my goal is not to stay there for very long. God takes my irrational questions and anxieties and mistakes and somehow throws enough peace and grace and love in there to cover them all, and I end up being okay.

GROWTH
Yesterday, the message shared at our church was based on the Bible story about Jesus and the little children. Mark 10:13-16. Back in the time this was written, children had no social status. They were considered unimportant, and had no value. Jesus gave the children prominence-- believing they have worth, value, importance and dignity. He also told us we need to become like children. Did he mean we needed to be more immature? No, I believe He desires for us to have all those wonderful qualities children can possess. Energy, joy, non-judgmental spirit, profound belief, a sense of adventure, lack of worry. The Pastor encouraged us to determine the extent to which we have these qualities. And where we need Jesus to help us close the gap. At the end of the service there was a loud commotion in the back on the room as the doors opened and dozens of children came running up on stage. (my 2 boys included) They all then sang Jesus Loves Me to everyone. Tears sprang quickly to my eyes as I experienced this beautiful sight. What a precious gift my children are to me. It is so easy to focus on their difficult qualities and not the wonderful ones God has instilled in them. It helped me remember that as much as I am trying to teach my children how to live, they are teaching me too.
