It is hard to believe that Jonathan is a 1st Grader! Wow! He has been excited about school starting which is a huge plus. In spite of his developmental delays, he is mainstreamed into a regular first grade classroom. He then is pulled out during the school day for learning support, physical and occupational therapies. In addition to that, he has a one-on-one aide who stays with him throughout the day to help him academically, socially, behaviorally, etc. So far I am very pleased with all Jonathan's teachers this year. They all seemed very prepared and truly interested in seeing Jonathan grow. This is a huge blessing. Last year was a very difficult one. It just seemed like his needs kept falling through the cracks. So I am impressed that the teachers and staff seem to be so proactive this year. It will be exciting to see all the positive changes and progress that Jonathan will experience this year.
This journey with our oldest has been a very difficult one. And we know it is not over. We can only go ahead with the faith and hope that God will continue to be here. And believe that He still knows what He is doing. That He has a reason for all the challenges Jonathan has to go through.
That God has a plan for Jonathan's life. I need to continue to remind myself of this daily. I am not alone.
